The David Silden Brass Ensemble is an informal group of both professional and amateur brass musicians that hail from the Charlotte, North Carolina metropolitan area. The ensemble includes trumpets, french horns, trombones, euphoniums, and tubas. The large group, ten and above, gathers once a year for a performance of music written for large brass ensemble.
Within this large group are many smaller ensembles of four, five, six, and larger ensembles that perform regularly. Included in this group are quintets, The David Silden Brass Quintet being one such example, but also the larger ensembles consisting of The Horn Society of the Carolinas and The Charlotte Tuba Euphonium Ensemble, both groups that got their start as a result of performing in the larger David Silden Brass Ensemble. Also included but with no direct affiliation with the David Silden Brass Ensemble is the thirty member Queen City Brass Band.
